Yesterday Frej and I went on a walk in Kortedala, the weather was wonderful and a bit closer to spring than before.

We ended up visiting the squatted house in Kviberg. Sadly I hardly took any pictures, just forgot. It’s in an old institution house so the feeling was really creepy in some rooms, but with beautiful light everywhere.
I got a wonderful black knitted hat with little rhinestones and a pink 60s lace dress in their free-shop! Lovely!

Met up with Linnea on the tram, she had just gotten her lip pierced. She has moved to Uppsala to study & we miss her a lot in the collective! First time back in Göteborg this weekend.

DSC00166

Brought her home and fed her with chips & crackers.

Linnea & Suss and our kitchen which for the first time in what seems like forever is lit up by actual daylight!

Here I had changed to the hat & dress I got in the free shop! That dress is my new favourite!! Going to take pictures of it when I get energy! Right now I’m really watching the Brown Bunny but I keep getting too bored and do other things like cleaning my room and writing blog posts…

This friday was Johanna’s 26th bithday & she threw a birthday party at her place, with cupcakes & balloons & 90s music.

Pretty Johanna with her birthday cat she got from Mattias!

There was cheese but no crackers. Chocolate crackers were tried out and appreciated. I didn’t try since I don’t eat that stuff but I found it pretty miraculous anyway.

Lovely party with lots of talk about body parts, hair, and illnesses of different kinds!! Then the others went out & Frej and I went home since I was sick and still am, boohoo.

I put all my clothes on, got ready and then I didn’t get out of the apartment in time for school, lost track of time. Stupid! Now I’m not going at all because I’ve already missed the first hour by the time I get there. Oh well, sometimes I guess you do need a break & also I am developing a cold thanks to either my classmates or my flatmates (everyone are sick these days) so I will stay here and take pictures of myself and surroundings instead.

Tonight I slept with my window open & instead had lots of blankets and sheets. Maybe not good for the cold but it was very nice anyway.

I am going to go by my human ecology class’ after work at andra lång today though I’m sick & sober aswell, then celebrate my little Johanna’s 26th birthday! It’s pretty nice to not drink and go out anyway. Next week, if everything goes as planned (that is, if nothing that you have to be your normal self for) Frej and I will fast, starting Monday. So this is like my cleansing and very healthy month!

I just wanted to say that I am NEVER deleting anyone’s comments. However, the blog is set up so that the first comment from each IP-address has to be accepted by me and after that you can comment anytime. (Possible that I have to allow your comment again after a while, might have to do with cookies or something, I don’t really know…) I can’t change this setting anywhere and find it quite appropriate anyhow. Just wanted to tell you! Also if you post too many comments too close to eachother in time (for example by having two tabs up at once and commenting in entry after entry there) the blog will think it’s a spambot and send them to the spam filter. If so, I will find them when I clear the spam filter which I do once a week or so, and allow them to be posted.

Some pictures I couldn’t upload when my connection was too slow. Josefin came over to visit me & eat spring rolls. She’s leaving Göteborg to go on a tour as a human sized moomin troll in all of Norway! Sad to see her leave but I think that is one of the best jobs I have ever had a friend have… or whatever I should call it. She is a professional wearer of different outfits such as Moomin troll, Pingu or Nicke Nyfiken.

DSC00001

Evelyn came over aswell, and quickly qualified into my List of People With the Best Teeth Ever! If you’ve known me for a while you will know that I am pretty obsessed with strange/fantastical teeth. Like Lisis‘ ones for example! But I have known Evelyn for a year and she had never given any signs of having these awesome teeth! They have been hidden from me until now! I was totally thrilled when she showed me!!! So great, total troll teeth!

Close up!

Then we went to Hisingen to look for henna and BANANDA. And herbal tooth paste and vinyls.

Today I finished my home exam on sustainable urban development. In the midst of writing the last part Suss came in to my room with two lovely packages I had gotten in the mail! Perfect timing as I was getting a bit grumpy! Especially since I was hoping to get done earlier in the day than I was so that I would have been able to go to a lecture at my uni where Carl Schlyter & David Jonstad and some other really interesting people were speaking. :(

DSC00049

Becka had sent me a weather diary from 1930 and a bunch of really pretty buttons; three different anchor ones and one with a deer on it! Among others! Now I know everything about how long ices should last & the monthly temperatures of swedish cities in the 30s!

DSC00055

And I also got a poster print by Naomi! Gonna frame it and put it up in the apartment somewhere, maybe on our “pretty wall”. Naomi is opening a gallery in Stockholm by the way, Vinca Minor! I don’t remember when it opens though, but soon!

DSC00056
After being done writing I followed Suss to a thrift store where she had reserved a table that I helped her carry home. Fell in love with an AMAZING  teak make up table with matching chair, two adjustable mirrors and a light in the middle. The little chair has had it’s fabric changed to a terrible one though. But if someone is in Göteborg and has 1400 kr, and loves teak, and feel like changing fabrics, go to Ebbes Hörna by Bellevue and check it out because I can’t afford it and that makes me sad! I also bought Animal Farm there since I haven’t read it since I was like 14, and also got a pair of lovely vertically striped 80s leggings (made in west germany they say!), and weird iron-on bow things I do not yet know much use for but I’ll think of some.

Now I’m going to make sushi to celebrate my handed in exam & then watch more Absolutely Fabulous with Suss again! She has all seasons!

Om du handlar hos Lily of the Valley under mars månad får du testa 5 nr av din lokala ETC-tidning utan extra kostnad!

Love Gala Darling’s Radical Self Love project & especially this list!

Arguments from global warming sceptics & what science really says. Good to know!

MultiColr is an awsome and quite addictive flickr photo finder thing where you chose up to 10 colours and it will find pictures with those colours present. (My tip: click beige! Beige is underappreciated!)

I also just read through the entire Mythology of Carnivàle and now feel so enlightened! (And really sad that they cancelled it…)

And I love love love Absolutely Fabulous,  the only comedy show ever really worth watching! (And a few episodes of it can be streamed here!)

Patsy and Edina have been to a Marilyn Manson concert!
That was the first episode I ever saw and being a quite big Manson fan I was thrilled! :D

Back to studies now!

Internet at home isn’t working, we’re suspecting it has something to do with all the snow… blaming the snow for everything going wrong these days! Right now I’m at the school library waiting for a very late Linda (probably the snow is to blame for that aswell..)
I’ve been reading! Week 6, 7 & 8.

11. Bat Seba – Torgny Lindgren
+++
Not my favourite Torgny Lindgren book, probably my least favourite. Though I do really like to read about romans so I still liked it. And even a least favourite book by his is better than most other books you know…

12. Thinking about development – Björn Hettne
???
This is a school book. It was interesting and structured my head up a bit more on what to think about how the world is shaped as of now. Not much more to say, not well read enough in the subject of development to critique it anyway.

13. Wto bakom fasaden – Susan George
+++
A short pamphlet about the WTO, what it does, what Attac wanted in 2001 etc… some really good facts and some that I guess are pretty dated now almost 10 years later. I thought it was fitting with the development studies so I read it in like an hour and felt a bit more sane afterwards.

14. Vägen (The Road, that is) – Cormac McCarthy
++
I really did not like this book much at all, and I expected I would. Mainly I just can’t stand short sentences for some kind of dramatic effect. Reminds me too much of a pile of annoying swedish bloggers… Sentence not common in my head: the movie was better than the book. (A bit of my liking of it was of course related to the fact that Nick Cave & Warren Ellis made the music for the film… which lead me to my next thought of disappointment which was Nick liked the book??) I still very much like the subject & story but the language was just too much (or too little) for me to enjoy it.

(I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it but I am taking Global Development studies for half this school year before going back to Human Ecology, because I’ve already taken the classes the rest of the human ecology class is reading right now)
