I just found out about French Letter Condoms through Ekoshoppa and think they seem really great! I, like 90% of the females I know who have ever been on birhtcontrol pill go crazy on hormones and can not ever use them again if I want my brain to function properly. French Letter Condoms are both made from fair trade rubber, and with no animal products! Most condoms have milk protein in them apparantly, I just learned this through google and am a bit grossed out by that fact. (And here’s a small list of vegan condoms)They are 129 swedish kr for a package of twelve on Jordklok.seand I think you can also order directly from their UK webpage if you want to. Oh and you get 10% off if you’re in their facebook group too!
“Hey lovers of the world … thank goodness you’re here. You have arrived in the divine world of the French Letter Condom Company, makers of the first FairDeal traded condoms for courageous creatures who Dare to Care.
Now you can make love with an eye on fair play with a French Letter condom. The rubber used to make the condoms is FSC certified and is traded fairly through the Fair Deal Trading supply chain. A royalty from each pack of French Letter condoms goes to ensuring that fair wages are paid to rubber plantation workers, and that they have adequate healthcare and pensions.
And just in case you’re wondering whether fairly traded condoms are as reliable as your regular brand, fear not. French Letter condoms carry the BSI kitemark and the CE mark.”
Above is a photo of someone clearly awesome. Sadly I don’t know from where it is.
The day started with us oversleeping and it was poor Frejs first day at school so he ran off way too quickly and now I miss him! I’ve been terribly unenergetic all day until I drank coffee and now I’m speedy and exaggregating everything.
It’s been three weeks since I stopped eating sugar and two months since I stopped using snus (chewing tobacco or whatever it translates as), feeling pretty healthy! And no cheating at all. Although I should probably exercise some too.
Cutie Tiger recommended me to her couch surfing friends so now they will stay here Tuesday-Wednesday! I love living with other people and living where there’s a lot of action around. I’ve only lived alone in an apartment for 6 months of my life and that was just terrible. I want and need people around me! A room to be alone in is enough. And new people are always appreciated! Say hello to me if you’re ever gonna couch surf in Göteborg!
TODAYS PLANS: Update the site with things that didn’t get up there yesterday due to laziness and extremely slow internet. Drink coffee. Watch movies and hang out with my flatmates, make some kind of soup, hopefully be done with the blog design and deal with my store design. TODAYS SONG: You have to listen to this! Shannon sent it to me years ago and it’s still the best song for happiness and energy I’ve ever heard.
TODAYS MOOD: Tired! But gonna drink more coffee soon! TODAYS WANT: I wouldn’t spend 400kr on tights, I don’t shop for new things and I don’t really ever feel like that’s a problem for me to not do, but I want these so bad I could probably break all my moral laws to get them. I DIE THEY ARE THE AWESOMEST EVER!!! They can be bought here. Found through The Clothes Horse.
This weekend I celebrated being done with the painful css course with doing nothing, watching lots of movies (Stranger than Fiction, Black Snake Moan, Running with Scissors, and probably more that I don’t remember), playing Age of Empires and, gluing vintage stamps on to my mirror.
Then I had a mini party in my room with Johanna, Carl, Danny and Frej.
This blog is going to look crappy at some points today while I’m testing out different options. Just a warning, sorry if your eyes bleed. I’m done with school now so expect more updates both in the blog and in the store! Cheers!
I have been completely fascinated with medical books since I was little and used to read my parents dictionary to look at different types of skin conditions… Here are some illustratiosn from the book Människokroppen (The Human Body) published in 1901 and written by John af Klercker. Will scan more some day!
Just got my Last.FM to start scrobbling winamp again after procrastinating this for a few months while it only scrobbled spotify which has annoyed me because then it doesn’t at all represent my true musical tastes anymore! Add me there if you feel like it, I like spying on other people and their taste. ++ Starting new course at the uni on Wednesday ++ the day after tomorrow I will be done with this school thingie and then I will have a very very strict internet routine. Won’t stop me from updating just as much here but I will no longer allow myself to sit at the computer so much, I really don’t want to keep having to medicate for internet use, it’s lame and I don’t want to wear my body out at the age of 23 ++ Frej has made a super organized folder of everything he has to do/make/start up/think of/change/etc and yesterday he sewed a pretty floral case for it too, now I’m envious of it and want one like it! ++ Going to get a septum piercing ASAP ++
By the way, I know that the blog design totally sucks right now! I noticed while I was changing it arouond a bit that there has never been (?) an “older entries”-function in the monthly archives nor in the main blog page so I gave up with making it look pretty like this and am going to switch themes instead since there are some other functions on this theme that annoys me. But I don’t have time to fix it until I’m done with my course. But by then I will probably also be pretty good at this stuff so then I can make the blog just the way I want it instead of half-crappy.
Took a break from my studies to go for a walk in Galaxen, Kortedala.
Gorgeous watch that isn’t working.
Met this fellow.
Jacket – vintage 60s one, is made from a crocheting pattern I’ve sold on my site actually! Exactly the same model. Silk 50s dress – thrifted Fabric bag – made from a fabric Ulrika made Yellow knee-highs – some random swedish store. One of the last things I bought new when I still did that. Boots - thrifted
TODAYS PLANS: Study some more, yay! Listen t o Frej sewing next to me. Watch a movie perhaps, and then sleep. TODAYS SONG: No particular one TODAYS MOOD: Quite pleased with myself, getting somewhere in the studies! TODAYS WANT: Cashew nuts
Sorry for my absence from the blog world but I’m coding Frejs site for my webdesign course and when I’m not, my arms ache so much I have to be away from the computer.
Progress:
TODAYS PLANS: Frej is coming over to massage me. Though he doesn’t know that yet. Also Susanne and I are going to make dinner soon. TODAYS SONG: I’ve been listening to Imperiet all day, can’t pick a song. TODAYS MOOD: Aching & tired & obsessive with css TODAYS WANT: Massage
i'm Karin, I'm 23 & live in Göteborg in Sweden. (grew up in Jönköping.) I run an online vintage shop called Lily of the Valley.
I like antique things, I buy way too many books with the last cash I own, I am interested in body modification, art, knowledge and Frej. I am a vegan and pretty involved in environmental issues. I've studied human ecology and CSR, going on to environmental revisioning this fall..
