The past two days both my arms have been aching badly right through the meds so I won’t be computerizing much, especially since I have to do online studies so I have to spend the time on the internet there instead of here or elsewhere.  I’ll be back when it gets a bit better or if I manage to force Frej to type for me or something.

Frej gave me his alarm clock. Or one of them, he has three more that he sets every night because he sleeps through anything. But mine broke the other week and since then there has been a conflict since he won’t wake up to just one alarm (the one on his cellphone) when he’s at my place. He turns it off instantly and goes back to sleep, and then so do I. Then we wake up too late and a bit mad. So now I have an alarm clock again, and a really pretty one too.

Frej making falafel for us. I’ve gotten him addicted too now I guess… nothing bad with that though, it’s super inexpensive and delicious.

I wore the penguin shirt because it was my flatmate’s birthday and she likes penguins.

The seminar yesterday was fairly interesting. I was going to go see Tom Regan today but studied instead. And changed the fabric on one of my chairs.

Stopped by the candy store to buy weird candy toys for Linneas birthday. Frej bought a Barbie egg.

I just took these out from the back of my closet as it is really autumn again and my feet are cold. My socks & my longjohns are in the top when it comes to my most mended items. Also, in the top on the most beloved possession list (cause I really do have one of those). I think those things are always related and that all mendable things are worth the effort.  I don’t think that personal consumption habits,  slowing down fashion a little bit or us buying a little more second hand is really the way to *save the world* since I am sure it comes down to a way greater effort than that.  But I do think that it has great symbolic value to not consume aimlessly and endlessly, to mend things and care for them.

Now I’m off to a Frejs school for a while and then to a seminar at Folkets Hus, about the militarisation of the European Union.

Boktipset

Joined the site Boktipset today to list my reading & keep track of it. Here’s my profile. Will still keep up with the posts here too though since I think I need it to get up to my one book/week goal, also a lot of the books I read doesn’t seem to be available on the site. But still!

Today I finally finished my quilt because I finally thought of what it should say.

Front and back side. I used a terribly ugly “viking patterned” fleece blanket I got at the fleamarket inbetween the layers.

It’s almost entirely made from scraps from my sewing, bits that have been too small to use for anything else. The back and background of the text is a thrifted vintage sheet and the ribbon is thrifted too. And the thread.

We wanted to find love
We wanted success
Until nothing was enough
Until my middle name was excess

Somehow I lost touch
When you went out of sight
When you got lost into the city
Got lost into the night
I was in need of help
Heading to blackout
Till someone told me “Run on in honey,
before somebody blows your goddamn brains out”

You shoplifted as a child
I had a model’s smile
You carried all my hopes
Until something broke inside

But now
We float
Take life as it comes

So will we die of shock?
Die without a trial?
Die on Good Friday?
While holding each other tight
This is kind of about you
This is kind of about me
We just kinda lost our way
We were looking to be free

But one day
We’ll float
Take life as it comes

/ I want to kill whoever invented spam and cursed me with this spam curse. I don’t know what to do about it since the mail program I use only marks some of the spam as “spam” and still keeps it in the normal inbox folder. It’s embarassing when I delete customer emails by accident and it’s a pain to log in on the email  even if I do it more than once a day since it’s always full of new spam. DIE SPAMMER! /  Yesterday I went to a study at Psykologiska Institutet, I was to sell fictional stock. I did ok and got some money for the trouble! For the money I bought luxorious food for me: frozen berries, Becel and soygurt / I fell asleep in our kitchen couch at seven, slept until eight when Ulrika came home. Went to bed again at ten and slept until 8 in the morning, it was good! /  Been listening to the Cranberries a lot these days, they used to be my big idols when I was 10 and I get nostalgic when I listen to them. I used to listen to this record (To the Faithful Departed) while playing some Nintendo game when you raced cars on different kitchen tables? I keep getting flashback images in my head from that game from listening to it /

Book read week 39
31. Human Ecology – G.Marten (School book)
Probably the first school book that I’ve read from cover to cover and kept being enthusiastic about.

nick_cave

I forgot to make this post yesterday!  It was Nicks birthday! My mom texted me in the morning about it, haha. She knows me way too well.
Anyway. If you don’t love him already you should learn to right now. It will enrich your life and bring you happiness and prosperity ok?

I made a Spotify playlist.

Sometimes I hope that I  my blog will grow only so that it will be so high up in google search lists that when Nick finally googles himself he will find my blog and marry me.
