What I do is make sure my phone and alarm clock are both on, and I set them far across the room from me. This way I have to get out of bed and walk across the room to turn both alarms off, and by then I'm awake. I made sure to get really loud alarms, too. (I hate the sound of a phone alarm, too... but I found one ring tone that's a little more mellow while still being loud.) I have these problems too. I don't like waking up to cell phone sounds, I usually don't keep my phone in the room where I am sleeping, I only have one alarm signal and it's very mellow; he will either sleep through it or he will shut mine off in his half-sleep too & if I am not getting up at the same time I won't care since I'm more interested in sleeping...
