Thing in hair – it’s a tablecloth….
Vintage dress
– bought at Myrorna ca 2 years ago.
I’ve cut the sleeves off which is pretty sinful! And have yet to hem the edges.
Vintage purse – thrifted ages ago.
I have to tie it shut because the clasp is broken, hence the bow.
Pretty shoes! – borrowed from Suss

DSCN4037

Suss’ shoes were great but gave me blisters & I impressed an elderly couple by walking barefoot over glass when I exited a tram.

Frej always keeps taking pictures while I am not focused anymore…for once I managed to not look crazy when he did that so I will post it.

DSCN4041

A picture I took before I left home this morning, that table cloth is pretty great!

Our mission for the day was Fram, which is a really lovely ecological food store by Olivedalsgatan. I bought spirulina hardbread (!) and sprouted wheat bread which I love. And an Urtekram deodorant aswell, will tell you if it’s any good once I’ve used up my old crappy one. And some other things; coconut fat which I will start using for frying things sometimes because it has good fatty acids in it.. and more that I can’t remember now and have to go because Frej is telling me the dinner is ready!

Vintage 50s dress - bought at the second hand store Börsen
Belt from the 19th century if I am right – thrifted for 5 kr
Army bag – from Mattias
Stripey stockings – a gift, from AA
Vintage shoes – thrifted many years ago

Was also wearing a tulle underskirt I found at Myrorna and that’s light orange and pretty great.

DSCN3972

Ulrika also gave me this wonderful eyeshadow from Make Up Store before she left.

DSCN3980

I accidentally walked into a book store today and could not resist since I loved Oryx & Crake so bad. And so far, this is just as good. I was going to wait for the swedish translation but temptation took a hold of me.

DSCN3969

Then I met up with Frej for a huge adventure; going on the boat Paddan for a tour around Göteborg!

Bergsjön.

P1240709Yesterday Frej and I went for a walk to Bergsjön which is quite close to where I live.

P1240714When we got there we played Uno, Frej won. Then we played vändtia heaps of times. I’ve started to always carry a deck of cards and it has improved my life! Or something. At least I’ve got something to do when on buses and such. Except from reading, but I don’t always feel like reading (but almost)

P1240712

I looked like this. I found the brooch at an antique store a few days ago, for just 20 kr!

And then we walked back home again, and watched some more horror movies. We’ve been watching horror movies together almost every night for a while now, it makes for interesting dreaming!

Everything I wore is vintage… (big surprise)
The cardigan I found at Hedens loppmarknad a year ago.
The dress I’ve already shown you, and it’s thrifted aswell
The bag is from Mattias and so are the shoes

Outfit:

Hair rose – gift from Johanna
Vintage blouse – From Amelia a few years back
Suspender skirt – thrifted (the brand is Monki) at Röda Korset
Tights – American Apparel
Mary Janes with three straps - bought at the secondhand store Börsen on Första långgatan.

View if you’re me.

*behind the scenes* Frej was making his bed.. haha.

DSC00447

I actually looked like this the whole weekend through because I stayed longer than I expected at Frejs place… as often happens. On Friday I was at Radikalt Forum (my university’s socialist students seminar weekend) to listen to a seminar on Gramsci, then I went to Frej’s place.  Saturday I went back to the forum and listened to a few more lectures, one was about the book the Spirit Level and was very interesting, bought Arturo Bareas biography and a book on the spanish civil war, then I went to Pop Boutique’s one year celebration with Johanna & Anton and where Frej later joined up.

Here’s a (sorta annoying) little short film I found on the book the Spirit Level, when I was googling. But yeah.. see it anyway! Then borrow the book, or something. I don’t think I will read it because I got the most of what’s in it from the seminar and might just use it for references once in a while…

Sunday Frej and I watched a few documentarys and made our own pizza.

This one was mine! Ooh so gooood, I want it back again! I think it might have been the most tasty pizza I have ever eaten. I will make it again with vegan cheese some day, then I might die with joy. It contained:
Crushed tomatoes mixed with oregano, chili and garlic.
Asparagus, mushroom, onion, falafels (which was what made it so great) and spinach.
Wish I had taken a picture after it had been in the oven, but I ate it instead.

And then there were the documentaries we watched.
First this one, Flow – for the Love of Water.

clip_image019

After watching this I take back that I don’t think that the Story of Bottled water which I mentioned earlier is that important in correlation to other dietary consumption issues, I didn’t know it (bottled water industry that is) was that bad in other countries,… Kinda spoiled being from Sweden which has relatively very clean water. The film is of course about more than just bottled water and very informative and easy to understand if you’re not into the subject. You can stream the entire documentary here on Documentary Wire.

And then we finally watched Capitalism – a love story.
Can’t give you tips on streaming it anywhere.

OneSheet (Page 1)

Trailer.

I thought it was pretty good too, leaves a few loose endds, wish he would have brought up more of what this has done to developing countries and how the IMF and World Bank have acted with their structural adjustment programs…  and I get kinda bothered with the confrontativeness as that always make me really anxious as a person. But yeah it’s an important documentary to see anyway, and then see others on similar subjects.

Ok now I’m gonna go drink tea and love myself for getting the best grade in my course in “the origins of the modern world order” which I finally got my grade in today after nervous waiting… I’ve started sneak in to my global development studies courses aswell again today, haven’t been with them since that course ended four weeks ago… I think I am becoming a total information junkie… I wished again that I could take those courses aswell as the ones I am taking now but you’re not even allowed to be signed up to that many courses at the same time and I don’t think I could do that and keep sane either for that matter.

Hi! Haven’t been able to update, went to Jönköping on Thursday last week to go crazy with Carin. Visited Becka, too and went to Vrigstad with my parents for a little trip on Sunday. Now I’m back in Göteborg and have read, mended things, done laundry and cleaned, gone to seminars and bought another bookshelf. And I’ve worn clothes!

60s dress – Bought at vintage shop La Principessa in Stockholm about 5 years ago. It has tiny clovers on it!
Stockings – American Apparel

Purple day

DSC00052
Yesterday I went to a fleamarket that is held once every year… Went there with Johanna, Mattias and Pim but pretty they left pretty soon and I stayed behind looking through piles of books. I got a bunch, like 16 or something. For 115 kronor total! Some of which I’ve been wanting to read for ages, like Solange.

I also got this mesh blouse with embroideries and tiny puff sleeves, for 10 kr.
The skirt is a gift from Becka, it was her grandmother’s.

DSC00025
Also got Dinas book, which was actually what I went there looking for. Like I said, her books are at most thrift stores and fleamarkets so you will find probably them when you look for them! I’ve already read almost half of it, don’t like it as much as the books about Tora though, which was a tiny disappointment.

DSC00055

Make up! Another eyeshadow I got from Fyrinnae & the purple lipstick is possibly Julias, someone’s left it behind in the collective anyway!

DSC00041

Knitted collar - thrifted at Saronkyrkan
60s crochet jacket – bought from a friend years ago
70s black simple dress – thrifted somewhere, don’t remember
Stripey stockings in orange and see through – thrifted at Ungdomshjälpen
Boots – 2nd hand from Myrorna in Skärholmen

P1230539

A few weeks ago I ordered some eye shadows from Fyrinnae & I got them the other day.

This is my face this morning after having put the eyshadow on Friday morning, gone for a very windy two hour walk in the little mountains by Utby, then getting drunk and staying drunk until late and being lazy, going to sleep with the make up on & lenses in & sleeping for ca 10 hours. So I guess they’re pretty durable… at least with a primer! Haven’t tried without.

P1230504

After having freshened up the rest of the make up!

Managed to upload two more now before it stopped working again! Here’s what I wore from thursday until sunday straight since I wasn’t home to change. Though at Frej’s place I mainly wore his black robe anyway… (and yes I know I’ve worn almost exactly this outfit in outfit picture before, sorry for being boring but I like these pictures!)

What I wore

Vintage dress – modified by me from a full length plain skirted dress since it was badly stained and this was a good way to hide it
Belt – from Johanna & Mattias’ cleanout a while back
Underskirt – thrifted
Tights – Rut mfl

DSC00181

Today I’m studying for an exam this thursday but Frej & I took a break from our duties to go to Emmaus by Hjalmar Brantingsplatsen where I bought a book about the WTO. Frej bought two very terrible sitting sacks in patterned 90s fabrics, don’t know the proper word for those in english. He is now in the process of sewing new covers for them but I hear him moaning angrily because the sewing machine isn’t working very well so we’ll see how that goes… Ok now he gave up.

What I wore.

Knitted beret – thrifted
Scarf – from Adina
Jacket – thrifted
Gloves – thrifted
Bag – Originally Micans, via Frej
70s dress – thrifted
Tights – bought about five years ago somewhere, indiska perhaps.
Shoes – thrifted

DSC00118

This is what my view is like. I love those shoes, thrifted them in Stockholm.

DSC00128

Breakfast this morning. Frej makes his own soy milk which he then keeps in that lovely tea pot.

DSC00098
He has also just bought this trophy for drinking water out of.

DSC00088

What I’m reading now (LOVE it!)

DSC00107

Frej had also thrifted a ceramic bird flute thingie… lergök.
DSC00080

These two are from yesterday when I was at my place & very pleased with having been to the dentist which I totally love!! (Bordering on fetishising it…) I got dental insurance for three years & lots of praise over my good teeth!

DSC00046

Happy teeth girl!!!
