Yesterday I went thrifting with my cousin Johanna that is staying with us for a couple of days. I found this insanely fantastical letter weight, most useless thing ever perhaps? I now use it to adjust my vanity mirror when I do my make up. Any more suggestions of use? Might build a hat of it or something. I also found the Profecy of the Sibyl, printed 1763. That is 247 years ago. Some things are just not supposed to cost 5 kr and still they do. Since I am obviously some kind of a book hoarder, I also bought a book by Paulo Freire, one by Pierre Guillet de Monthoux, Germaine Greer, one by Kafka and one by Tomas Tranströmer and one with short stories by Alexander Solsjenitsyn.
Today I dyed my hair and studied Sweden’s plan for global development with my peoplez at school. Though we were at one of my course mate’s student housing which was terribly fancy & nice. They had an old piano, and a pool table.

Yesterday I burned my chick peas when I was making hummus (eng. spelling??). they turned out little black raisin. Johanna & I took the burnt ones out, rinsed & called it smoke aroma hummus. And it’s pretty good aswell! Very pleasing!!!
Adina in her pretty living room, with the food we had the first night I was in Stockholm.

The wonderful umbrella holder thingie I bought at the antique fair in Stockholm! And my umbrellas.

Books from Bokbörsen arrived! Happy! I bought them without seeing pictures so I’m even happier now because I got the same edition of the Vian book that I used to have before it got lost!

And me today. Like I said, I rearranged the room so now my bed is on the same side as the bat poster & all that stuff. I’ll take pictures once I’ve got a book shelf, right now it’s too much of a mess to show off…

Plans for the day are: Mail things out, pick up medicine, go to lecture, meet up with girl in town to hand over a dress (I don’t usually do that and now I know why, it’s impossible to find an appropriate time for two people to meet up! First I got sick, then she had things to do, then I wasn’t in town for a bunch of days, etc etc) then go to Holmens marknad with Suss, come home, dye my hair & make hummus.

At the antique fair in Kista I found the boots I have been looking for since I was like 15 years old! I’ve wanted a pair like this through every style I’ve ever had, haha! They’ve always been way too expensive for me to afford on Tradera, Ebay etc but this pair was just 350 kr! (crazy!) And they’re PERFECT; have never even been used! They are part fabric and part shiny patent leather. They fit me so far, but I haven’t tried to wear them for an entire night yet. But if they hurt I will force my feet to make them fit anyway, or take pain meds, haha.

This is a vintage felt hat my sweet mother found at a fleamarket and bought for me a couple of years ago. I’ve always loved it but thought it didn’t fit well with the dark red hair. Now that the hair is part orange instead it looks a lot better!

I wish I had taken better pictures of the other side of it where it is really advancely made. These are from Frej’s new apartment’s kitchen, I love his wallpapers a whole lot.

I got this wonderful red hatbox for christmas. It used to belong to my grandmother’s sister and dad found it in their old house that has been sold a little while ago and hence cleaned out. I also got four hats that were in it, all from 40s-50s. I love hatboxes, so good for storing things in while being pretty at the same time. It was probably my favourite christmas gift!

(I also thrifted the tiny beige suitcase in the pictures a little while ago, for 25 kronor)

Beautifully patterned inside! And one of the prettiest hats. My other favourite is in black felt with a little acorn metal ornament on it.

And my grandmother gave me the little metal frame from the 19th century. I put a 50s cat post card in it. The frame used to belong to my grandfather’s mother. Frejs parents gave me the book on vintage clothing, pretty nice book with lots of pictures.

My wall.

Here follows a whole row of vain pictures of my face and (kinda greasy) new hair.

Some of my favourite books I keep on my desk to look at.

The third book from the left is on human sexuality from 1917, I got it from my dad as a birthday gift this year. I’ve been wanting it for ages but he wouldn’t give it up before. It’s the most fantastical book!!! It has whole long chapters dedicated to describing the ways in which you slowly die if you were to commit the ultimate sin of masturbation.
Frej and I went thrifting this Friday and I got this amazing 40s coat! I have been looking for a good, long and WARM winter coat for years without success! It was 150 kr and Frej found it first but he couldn’t close the buttons all the way up so I got it instead! It’s a tiny bit too big on me but that’s good because then I can fit in more warm clothes underneat it. It also closes all the way down with hidden buttons on the inside so that your legs stay warm too. Haven’t been this pleased with a purchase in a long time!!

I cut my bangs asymmetrical again yesterday, and bleached parts of the hair and the ends of all the dreads. Now it’s a more orangey red and I like it a lot, much more autumny. The bleach was only in for about 20 minutes as I just wanted a brighter orange and not yellow or blonde.
Also my mother got me an umbrella at some thrift store, she said it was 10 kr.

I like that the handle has no hook!

Orange!!

Tip for someone that still has room on their walls. I would so have gotten this school poster that is up for auction on Tradera right now, if I only had a place to put it. The seller also has a lot of other lovely school posters up for cheap so if you’re on the lookout I suggest you take a look at his/her auctions!
This is the wonderful collar I got in Denmark! For 20 danish I think, I’m in love with it and keep it on my desk to look at all the time.
